From our experience, one of the most cost effective ways to enhance security in the workplace is with CCTV and video surveillance systems. We can help you set up a truly integrated security platform which links seamlessly to your central management system.
What are CCTV cameras?
CCTV, also called closed-circuit television, is a camera system which allows you to keep an eye on what is happening in around your premises. CCTV cameras and monitors are connected to enable you or security personnel to view events live in real-time. Another important advantage with CCTV cameras is that footage can be archived for record or evidence for later reference.
Why are CCTV cameras called “closed-circuit”?
A CCTV system differs from a normal television broadcasting system because it forms a closed network, the footage captured is restricted to the premises’ network. The CCTV monitor does not receive publicly broadcasted content and is therefore not interfered by external broadcasting. The CCTV monitor will only display footage from security cameras installed on the premises.
Integrated FaceXpatrol management System is embedded in a new monitoring system
Of course, CCTV systems have been around for a long time. However, recent developments and technology have made them more effective than ever in aiding law enforcement and in capturing evidence. For example, Integrated’s advanced face recognition FaceX system can be embedded in new types of CCTV cameras making them even more practical and versatile.
CCTV types and comparison
There are several types of CCTV camera options, but two types are most common:
IP (internet protocol) CCTV cameras are the most popular type of cameras deployed in new projects. IP cameras provide much clearer and sharper resolution images as well as capabilities such as remote zooming, remote controls and repositioning. They can be set up to be controlled via a web browser which makes them even easier to use and control. Other useful features include real-time notifications when the CCTVs detect unusual movements e.g. at night. Users can also view live footage from any camera remotely through a computer or mobile device.
Analog CCTV cameras are the classic option and have been around for decades. They are still widely used today and have the advantages of being more economical and offer stable performance. Like IP CCTV cameras, they are also able to store video locally for later reference.
